DESCRIPTION:OCCII SUMMER CLOSING HC/PUNK MATINEE\n\n\nWORLD’S APPRECIATED K
ITSCH PROUDLY PRESENTS: POISON RUÏN (US) + ANGSTMÄLER\n\n\n\nPoison Ruïn (
	punk\, USA\, Relapse Records)\n\nLast minute show at OCCII\, at the tail e
nd of their European summer tour!!!\n\nSince their formation in 2020\, the
Philadelphia band Poison Ruïn have carved out\na unique place for themsel
ves on the modern punk and metal scene. And with their\nlatest album\, Hym
ns From The Hills\, released this spring\, they have truly\nbrought their
unique sound to fruition\, where themes from the Dark Ages collide\nwith g
	ritty anarcho-punk.\n\nIn Poison Ruïn‘s hands\, medieval atmospheres and t
hemes are not an escape from\nreality – on the contrary\, they serve as a
grim mirror for modern day society\,\nwhere ordinary people are crushed in
to the mire by powerful rulers. We find\nourselves in the midst of the dar
k ages\, and Poison Ruïn delivers a\nplague-ridden soundtrack where classi
c crust punk is mixed with elements of\ntraditional heavy metal\, post-pun
k\, black metal and medieval dungeon synth\npassages.\n\nThe anarchic spir
it of punk meets dark\, gothic atmospheres\, whilst the band’s\ncold and e
erie lo-fi sound has led reviewers to draw comparisons with the\naesthetic
of Norwegian black metal bands such as Darkthrone and Immortal.\n\nWith H
ymns From The Hills\, the band have managed to add more nuance to their\ns
ound without compromising on their raw\, gritty core. The album has garner
ed\nexcellent reviews from outlets including Pitchfork\, which aptly wrote
: “The\nPhiladelphia punks sound like they were swept off to the Middle Ag
	es in a mosh\npit and immediately started a revolution”.\n\nhttps://poison
	ruin.bandcamp.com/ [https://poisonruin.bandcamp.com/]\n\nAngstmäler (d-bea
t\, NL)\n\nBlasting out of the bad-to-the-bone backstreets of Haarlem\, An
gstmäler is\nbrought to you by the same sick and twisted individuals who h
ave unleashed\nTraumatizer\, Robber and Asbest Boys onto this lifeless orb
	 of a planet.\nBlown-out\, feedback-drenched raw d-beat hardcore punk desi
gned to punish a world\nthat is undeserving of mercy and grace. Blow your
damn earholes out with this\npile of steaming hardcore noise.\n\nhttps://b
